It is in the form of a tumor in the soft tissue under his tongue. It hurts him to use or stick out his tongue. He&#8217;s not able to eat very well and can&#8217;t groom himself.<\/p>\n<p>The vet and I discussed treatment options, but they seem very difficult. Simba would end up with no tongue and all or part of his jaw removed and then be on chemo. He&#8217;s 16 years old. I think the treatment would kill him, and if not, the quality of his remaining life would be very poor. I think Simba&#8217;s time is nigh.<\/p>\n<p>Simba is a unique and wonderful cat.<\/p>\n<p>I am heartbroken.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Simba has cancer.
