For the first 10 years or so, it appeared to be abandoned. Then I noticed some renovation work that went on for over 5 years. Then it became a reasonably good country pub called, not surprisingly, The Old Barn. That lasted for 5 or 6 years years and then closed. Since then there has been a succession of owners each one of shorter duration until it folded a few years ago and has remained for sale since then. The farmhouse burned to the ground a few years ago and the land around what was the barnyard (and is now a parking lot for the pub) has been turned into a quarry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This old barn has never actually been used as a barn while I have lived in this area &#8211; which is over 30 years.
