Several years ago when my grandson Chris and I were playing in the Mississippi River near my home, I noticed some patterns of light in the water. I took pictures of them and got some quite remarkable images. We were around (and under) the bridge that takes you onto the island where I live. These reflections were only visible in bright sunlight and only when viewed from under the bridge.
I went there today, hoping to use one of these images for my blog. The sky was clear and and bright – just a perfect day. Unfortunately, by the time I got there the sun had gone too low in the sky and the reflections were not as vivid. I’ll have to go back another day. However, I was in the water under the bridge with my camera, so I took this shot. When I got home I used Photoshop to give it a slightly mystical look using something called the Orton effect.
If you’re curious about what that is, Google will help.

Seems the application of the Orton effect could be more subtle in this image
