We took the kayaks out for the first time this year and paddled in the Mississippi* River from my back yard.
* this is not that other Mississippi River. This one’s in Ontario and flows into the Ottawa River.

We had a family barbecue today. Kyle (at my instigiation) provided us with a burping demonstration. I took this shot after a particularly satisfying burp.
We had just had dinner at our local Vietnamese Restaurant and were on our way to a movie (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo – if you haven’t seen it, go). This shot opportunity caught my eye – what is it?
For some reason, I didn’t think of taking a picture today.
To my Landmark friends, I apologize for being inauthentic.
My gardening skills (and interest) are minimal. I consider not killing things a major success. It’s not surprising then the I have no idea what the flowers in the foreground are called. I thought they were pretty, so I took this picture of them and my home.
And, no, the house is not sinking into the ground. The perennial beds are raised and surround the septic system weeping tiles.
For the past few months I’ve periodically seen a fox near the bridge on to Glen Isle (where I live). Now there is a whole family of foxes. My neighbours tell me there are seven kits. These two were horsing (foxing) around near the bridge. They don’t seem very shy – probably not a good thing for their longevity.
Some big bank owns the right to name this place, but to me it’s still the Corel Centre. I was nearing home when I took this shot. I had been travelling for 12 hours, and realized I hadn’t taken a shot yet that day.
Mom and Me
It was nearing midnight and I hadn’t taken any pictures yet that day. I started shooting things around Maureen’s condo. Finally I noticed Mom’s picture and started playing with it in the shots. This was the best one. I like the concept, but the execution could have been better if I hadn’t been trying to use a reading lamp, a point and shoot camera and hand holding the picture and camera at the same time.
