I love wearing my sunglasses. They’re just clip-ons, but the lenses are tinted yellow and they make the world a prettier place. In processing this shot I increased the brightness of the oranges and yellows and decreased the brightness of the blue to mimic what my sunglasses do. OK, I also pumped up the saturation a bit too. I’m in charge; I can do that.
This is another interesting window from the monster three story house with the gable end window.
This seemed to be an unusual fence enclosing the back yard of a house on a corner lot on High Street in Carleton Place. We need more public art like this in town.
I thought this was an interesting detail from a huge old house on High Street in Carleton Place. The house had 3 floors and 4 balconies! It’s all in a bit of disrepair though…pity.
An image of part of something is sometimes more interesting than one of the complete object. I’m not sure why. Possibly it’s because it asks the viewer to imagine the rest of the object. Perhaps it is because it allows the image to focus on the more interesting/relevant part of the object. Should I be using subject rather rather than object or is the subject the part of the object that is in the image?
This is my wind chime. It has been hanging in my back yard for 5 years (or more) and is quite weathered. Although I’ve had to repair it many times, it continues to brighten my day when I am outside or when I can keep my window open.
Finding interesting abstract images (often repeated patterns) can be a challenge. This is from my car. Whether it’s interesting or not… well, that’s for you to decide.
On my way to a friend’s place for coffee, the field of dried soybeans, sky and cloud caught my eye. Unfortunately it’s a bit fuzzy because I had set my camera to a high ISO last night to photograph the tree (see yesterday’s image) and had forgotten to return the camera to its normal setting.
While taking out the garbage tonight, I walked past this bare oak tree in my front yard and saw the full moon in a clear sky through the branches – perfect fall night scene.
